Storyboard and To Do list.

This is the storyboard we decided to use for out second E4 ident. It was created by Andrew. We all created one to compare and combine our ideas. They all followed the same sort of pattern. Andrews was the best visually, and probably technically, so we decided to make that our final one :)

 This is a layout of what is going to be on what layers. e.g. WW1, Vikings etc.

This is out first set of assigned tasks. We will get on with these during the course of the week.

My Channel 4 Ident.

This is an animation I created in this mornings CAAD session. This is my own imitation of the Channel 4 ident. I found it weirdly fun to create and I am happy with the outcome. These techniques are pretty much what Channel 4 would have used for their idents. I used Cinema 4D and the Bezier tool to create the outline of the Channel 4 logo. I then dropped the splines into an Extrude Nurb. I extruded the Nurbs X axis out to 40 and 0 out the Y and Z axis. I then turn the faces white by creating a new material and clicking Luminance. After all that was sorted I found an image to go onto the sides of the cubes. I chose an image of Pioneer CDJ's. I set the mode to Frontal. I had to keyframe backwards so they would move into place in the correct way. I then moved the Cubes so they fit together to create the channel 4 logo. After effects was really just a case of using the pen tool and creating masks. Rather simple when you get the hang of it.

Ident. BBC THREE

I had a look at this ident because the animation is simple and is in the same type of style that the ident we are working on will be.

Discovery UK Ident.

I had a look at this ident because i like the sound the D makes when it 'orbits' the planet. We could use a similar sound for when the satellite orbits the earth in our Ident.

Ident MTV. Let The Be Music

I had a look at this ident because the character plummets to the earth and goes right through it. when the lake opens up and creates a hole it sort of reminds me of that concept.

E4 Ident.

I chose to look at this ident because in our group animation there is an actor falling through the sky. There may also be a scene where it shows the inside of a plane (before it blows up).

IDENTS. MTV LET THERE BE MUSIC

MTV Ident. I found this video on 'The Ident Gallery'. I found this relevant to the project because of the space theme. I really like the design of the character and the simplicity of the animation.
